The Dubai Mall Turns to KOGI for Cutting-Edge Digital Signage Upgrades

The Dubai Mall, located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is one of the largest shopping facilities in the world. Opened in 2009, it features over 1,300 retail outlets. Prior to the onset of COVID-19, the mall saw upwards of 80 million visitors annually. Given its glamorous international profile, The Dubai Mall is constantly looking for innovative new technologies that enhance the overall shopping experience while meeting key sustainability requirements. 

In Fall 2018, KOGI, working with a local partner, upgraded the digital signage system at The Dubai Mall’s “Fashion Avenue” to create a sustainable advertising system requiring only minimal maintenance costs. The Dubai Mall selected KOGI’s bid on the basis of four key factors.

First, KOGI offered a fanless design that avoided dust accumulation to prevent overheating and display shutdown. Second, the solution offered by KOGI ensured lower annual maintenance costs (SLA). Third, KOGI offered appropriate form factors given the limited amount of space behind the signage display system. Fourth, KOGI’s form factor, while being small in size, was able to connect with six HDMI video walls to maximize display output.
